I retired from the cable company on 12/31/08. The economy was
getting bad and they were getting ready to make cutbacks. They offered early
retirement to a few of us so they wouldn't have to make any layoffs.
The deal was too sweet to turn down and I really hated this
job anyway so, I jumped at the chance. I used some of my 401k to buy some really cool tools, a trailer, and a old house that needed repairs. Of course my timing was off and the housing bubble burst after I bought the darn thing. It was on the market for a long time so I just rented it to some friends from Church.
One of these days I will sell it and buy another one. I hate the thought of borrowing money to buy another but I am getting an itch to get cracking again.
