weddin

I got me a weddin to go to in a couple of weeks. My little brother is getting hitched out in the west coast. I haven’t been out that way since we came back from Germany in 1988. I hope to see a lot of family and friends I ain’t seen in 19 years.
I have had a bunch of real butt holes in the last couple of weeks but I can’t think of the situations right now. I have had about four shots of black tokillya (Mindy bought me for Christmas) mixed with coke and things are a little murky. I have had a rough week with my oldest son.

warming up?

It is warming up now. Feb is normally our coldest month. I don’t trust it. I believe it is just teasing us a little and come down on us with another wintery blast before long. It was up to 70 deg the other day but that brought on the winds and threat of the tornados.
I have been doing a lot of disconnects lately. Not too many non-pays so I volunteered to do some requested discos just for extra money. I enjoy those much better. Most of the time there are no irate customers to deal with. Ya still have the irate dogs and dangerous poles and fences but way less stress.

this is a picture of my daugther and I in 1974 at one of the parks in Tucson

I had a non-pay yesterday that made me a little nervous. It was in a bad neighborhood for starters. I drove by slow looking for the address and there were two shady looking characters in the front yard with their pit bulls. I thought to myself “ahh crap”, but they saw me plus they had a convertor box I needed to pickup. I turned around and went back. One of the guys emitted an evil aurora about him and made the hair on the back of my neck standup. He had tattoos all over including several on his face. He looked like one of the people in the prison documentaries. He also had the “I want to kill you and cut you up” looks in his eyes. In the mean time the pit bulls were trying to climb the three foot fence to get at me. Some rough looking woman came out and told the guys to put the dogs up and rode off on her bike.
I told them I was there to pick up the box and the killer went in to get it or get a gun to shoot me at the time I didn’t know which. I stuck up a nervous conversation with the other “less evil” looking guy about the weather. We got to talking about going to the lake. I thought to myself “This is the typical lake person around these parts”. Anyway he got to talking about noodleing. I just happened to know that meant wading out along the banks of the lake and sticking your hands in underwater holes and letting fish bite your fingers and grabbing them. I told him there was no way I was going to do that because of the snakes. He just laughed with his partial set of front teeth showing. The real evil one came out with the box and not any weapons that I could see. I gave him a receipt for the box and crossed out the printed $10 collection fee saying it was a free pick-up. I got out to the truck relived to get the hell out of there and I saw the evil one in the mirror coming toward me. I rolled down the window part way and had the truck running just in case. He just wanted to know about the $10 collection fee. I reminded him that I crossed it out and it was free. That seemed to satisfy him for the moment. I quickly drove into the alley and cut them off and got out of there.
I had a few more incidents the last couple of weeks but can’t think of them right now.

Valentine’s Day

Snowing and dang cold out today. I took the little woman out to dinner yesterday for Valentine’s Day because today I picked up the grandkids after work. We are keeping them for the next four days. That is going to be interesting.
I did get some disconnects done today even though it was so cold. I had four layers of shirts on. I had my Desert Storm scarf wrapped around my face and had the cable beanie hat pulled down over my ears. Oh it was still cold but for a few minutes I could manage. I was a little put out by a couple of morons who made me wait out in the cold while they got the equipment from inside and took their sweet ass time about it. And then they seemed put out while I tried to make out a receipt while they had to wait with the door open. By the way people, ink pens don’t write well when it is 19 deg out.

winter blast 2007

Gosh it has been a while since I wrote anything here. Well the main reason is my laptop crashed. It would not come back up even with the emergency disks. I had to reformat the drive and I didn’t back anything up for a long time…Dumb. While updating everything once I got windows 98 back on, my router crashed. My only way to the Internet is through the router. OK I got around that by taking the laptop to work with me and parking in apartment complexes and using unsecured other peoples routers. I got it almost up to where it was after a couple of weeks and something happened to the internet explorer. I kept getting an error and it would shutdown. #$%@
Oh and on top of all this my sister-in-law came to stay with us until she closed on her house…down the street. I have always told her she has a little black cloud that follows her around. Things happen, things break when she is around. Hum let me see my laptop, router, TV, and my stapler. Yes my TV!
My little brother had the same effect on my drier when he would visit in Tucson. It would always break when he stayed with us.
Ok I bought a new laptop the other day so I have no good reason not to add to this blog now and then.
Back to the header. Global warming has caused it to be real damn cold here this last month and ½ . We have had several inches of ice and it was so cold it stayed with us for a week. On top of that it snowed several times after that and it has continued to be cold up to now. I don’t remember it being this cold for this long. Makes it dang hard to open fences when they are frozen shut. One good thing is a lot of people are keeping their dogs inside.
Sister-in-law trying to chip ice..... Looks like snow but it was solid.
Oh and did I say it is snowing again to day and it is 19 deg out with a wind chill of 2deg. I am looking forward to discoing someones cable today...
